Stick with Quadro's, I would wait for the quadro5's
if you are getting the workstation now, just get a cheap
quadro4 card and I would also wait till a stable MP motherboard with 8XAGP.

How good is it for games? I would imagine pretty good for any OpenGL based games like Quake3 and Return to CastleWolfenstein and such. But what of Direct X based games? Any experience on these issues?

Thanks

If CAD is your main usage and you use wireframe a lot, then GL 8800 is a good solution. For some reason its wireframe performance is much faster than quadros. But quite the opposite for shaded / shaded wireframe...

From all the info I gather, ati's advantage over Quadro is in, wireframe performance, multiple viewport performance, dual screen performance, and particles performances. Other than these, the quadro should be faster.

Ultimately, it all depends on what you are going to do with it.
