i am having a huge amount of trouble with the "attach tracker to selected points" and "create tracker for selected points" functions in the rotoshape submenu.
firstly, when i create a tracker, it appears as though the rotoshape is in fact connected to it and not the other way round.
furthermore, the xy movement data of the individual rotoshape points is only imposed onto the tracker for the first frame. the inference then is that i actually have to track the rotoshape myself with the points that have just been created - this is not always a totally accurate solution.
it shows in pink that , for example, the point p1.1 is now following the point of the rotoshape, but no movement data can be extracted and the only positional xy data that exists is that of the first frame.
surely within shake the data is stored for each and every point over time in a rotoshape.
assuming this, why is it then neccessary to track the motion of the shape when the exact positional information could just be fed from the rotoshape directly into a tracking node?
you should just be able to click on "attach tracker to selected points", and have a fully functioning, moving series of trackers that not only follow the points on the rotoshape that you have created, but also alter respectively if you re-animate any rotshape keyframes...
is this a flaw in shake, an oversight or am i just being stupid?
i don't get it, it should be really simple.
