Hi,
I have 32 groups that all hold quite a large number of objects. All objects of all groups have the same material.
Now I would like to have every group with a slight variation of color without copying the whole shading network and creating a new material for every group.
(So now all objects in the scene are blue but I want all objects of group1 be light blue, all objects of group2 be dark blue, etc. ...)
How could I do that?
I made it work with a ramp and a single switch and an attribute for each group with a random value that defines the vCoordinate of the color ramp.
But I couldn't figure out an efficent way to bring in the information into the switch and doing it one by one is due to the large number of objects not possible (...well at least not without going crazy along the way).
I tried by using MEL but I have little experience with that and I got nowhere...
