How To Render Animations

Hey guys, havent been here for a while due to my net problems...

I have two questions... both verry simple.

1.I am so dumb that i cant figure out how to render animations with Mental Ray(i thought i could render animation to avi or something like that, like in some other aplications). So.. HOw to render animations into avi or some other vid. format with MENTAL RAY.. is it posible?

2.I need to know this because i started a new project... And i want to let people know.... So where should i put info about my project (both on this site and in other places) that people would notice.

P.S. "helpers" will be listed in the credits... i allready have couple of coool dudes hwo helped me alot in the past...

mental ray can't render movie files. Just render sequential frames and compile a movie with something like quicktime or after effects. If you just need to be able to look at the sequence playback, just use "Fcheck" that comes with maya.

Hey i just did a batch render... the result was good, exept that it rendered the view from a different location.
I should have had a certain object much further in the scene, and when the batch render is complete i noticed that its verry close... and if do not changhe any setings and render single frame i get the object back where it should be...? whats going on?

Check through your Render Globals. You will find the section where your render view is defined. Select your correct view to render right in Batch Render. When you select your camera there is a small option saying "Renderable", set that to on and it should always be used as your render camera when batch rendering. You can even select two cameras, set them to on and batch rendering will render both cameras at the same time.
