Mental Ray don't render SudD Surface?

Sorry everyone ... i know this may sound very beginner to all of u but i was trying to render out a SubDiv model in Maya Mental Ray few days ago and the model didn't got render out. Is that because Mental Ray don't support SubDiv surface?? is there anyway that u can render out a subDiv in Mental Ray render in Maya ??

MEntal ray only supports subdivision surfaces that have either only 4 sided faces or all 3 sided, any other combo will fail without remorse.

However a side effct of subdivision surfaces is that it does produce quads or all nonquad faces at some point of its subdivision, so if you collapse a levell or 2 you shoudl be able to get a all quad subd tahtis if your geo is alteast minimaly intelligent.

It renders. As long as you keep mesh in quads. If you can't do that, convert to polygons prior to rendering
