Have you done bone animation before?
The only thing I can think of is that your model is not assigned to your skeleton (!) If your model is assigned, well, it should follow the skeleton, depending on the weighting you defined.
When you say that your model does not follow the skeleton, do you mean that your model simply does not react in any way to the bone animation (in other words, the skeleton moves but the model doesn't), or does your model makes erratic and weird movements (in other words, does it get f...d-up when the skeleton moves)?
