I have a cached fluid and I want to move forward in time by one. Duncan has said a few times how to mess with the connections between fluid cache and time. But I never quite understood, and until now had a need. The cache isn't connected to time just to the fluid. I can't change the time node, b/c the rest of the scene needs to stay the same. I need to jus tshift the cache forward my one. Any help anyone? Thanks!

(Hmm possibly make a new time node and connect the fluid, which is connected to the cache, to that?)

I love how as I'm posting the question, actually editing a spelling mistake, I re-read my post and added the above... I was trying different things before, just didn't try that one and of course...

Yep that did it. Geez. ![](http://www.highend3d.com/boards/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif)

destruct could you explain a bit how to "disconnect" from time and reonnect to another time node? just for us maya newbies ![](http://www.highend3d.com/boards/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif) or is it as simple as disconnecting any node in maya? if i read how to connect/disconnect nodes in the manual is it equally aplicable to fluids?
