Can someone advise on polygon womans crotch area?

I've modelled the torso for a polygon woman but the crotch area looks a bit sharp can someone advise as to whether i've done it right or not and where i need to put a few more edges for smoother crotch

Hey dude,

Ok first of all don't have her crotch meet at a point.
Put some more edge loops in there.  If her legs meet at a point like the
way you have it, the deformations will not be correct; they will look
very awkward.  Putting more edge loops around the source of the bend will
give you more effective deformations when animating your model.

Thanks! i know this is a lot to ask but could you just take some screenshots of how you joined the torso to the leg? i followed the tutorial on this site for the polygon woman, but when it came to the crotch area it didn't show it in close up so i couldn't see where they had added more edges??? also could i just add some loops to my model or do i have to start again?

ok had a go at rough head and breasts and attached them, could you see if you think if topology (is that the word?) is right?

also it said in tutorial that you posted do head as cube so i did but wouldn't it be simpler with a half cylinder?

The half cylinder works if you are comfortable with it. However, if you extrude out a muzzle type of face you create secondary problems on how you'd likely want to make mouth loops. Cubes generally give you more control over your initial geometry to add in details later.

Boxes also easily create for a problem called box modelling syndrome. Hich is prettrymuch what you have going when i look at ethe images.

No i would recomend building the faces and loops by drawing the basepolygosn by hand.

so Joojaa would you recommend using cylinder for the head then? also do the breast look alright to you?

do you mean head or breasts? and do you mean polygon by polygon?

agreed..  when you build polygons (especially for head models or other complex areas) by scratch, you have a lot more control over your model for when you're setting up for animation..  It's more time consuming, but it saves a lot of headaches in the end.

thanks for the advice, do the breasts look ok in my screen shot i just took half spheres and attached them to holes in the torso, also do you think my crotch area will deform ok?

Have you looked at an anatomy book?

You need to look at muscle structure for reference.
Is you model nude or will it have clothing?
You modeling depends also on these factors.
