Hi all - Here are a couple of renders from a model I just built in Maya. The character is "Tad Floops" from the original Jinx series "Antiques Roadshow 3000". Just thought I would share. -been having fun cruising these boards.

good 3d interpritation of a 2d cartoon. yeah arms a little bigger, and the hands are pretty flat.

I could buy it IF you fix his gloves..VERY FLAT..not flat in the drawing.. also , make sure you add those details that are present ion the drawing when you texture.. .face moll..ect..
and the arms might be wrong if you';re trying tog to that cartoon SLEEVE feel ..?hows it look when his arms go down ?

..........hey little girl, wanna buy a monkey?......

yeah...........
word on the sleave,... cartoon em up. also, why not model the crease down the center, would be easy and look better than a black line.
also upon further inspection the ears are a bit thick. like pignoses,... tweak em out some.

To round in some areas, to square in others....

His hair looks to round in the front, where in the drawing, it comes to a point.
Nose could be pulled out farther, and given a bit of a bend.
Throw in a slight double chin, like the drawing.
I'd make his shirt sleeves a seperate object, that way you can stay closer to the original look.
His logo on his buckel looks backward (yeah, small pick.heh)
His legs look really square.
Same with his ankles. His feet look ok though.
Make his gloves look less obvious square (at the top), give them some more of a oval look, less squared...
Really flat hands....
Make his upper arms slightly larger then his lower arms instead of the straight tube...

It sounds like I pointed out a lot, but it's still a cool character. Nice job. He just needs a bit more work. ![](http://www.highend3d.com/boards/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif)

btw, really great stuff on your website!
