Face Modeling program for newb?

Is there a program that can model a face on the fly? I tried that free one with the sliders, it didn't work well for me, and Mudbox and ZBrush are a bit complex for me right now, so is there anything Cheap or even free modeling program?

Also check out FaceGen. It has a free demo with no export.

Thing is face gen could be done in maya with blendshapes and possibly cgfx xshaders for the feedback. So whynot release it as a rig then? Anyway ive seen rigs like this but they arent exactly cheap.
