I've been modelling at my job using MJPolyTools v0.6 (a MEL script by Mikkel Jans), and on a couple of occurences now the file I have saved has been corrupted and I've lost hours of modeling and adjustments in my file.

The clues I see about the corruption are that pieces I built the most recently before saving remained there, while earlier pieces I did had many edges that were mysteriously lost or verticies switched around in mysterious ways.

I really need to get to the bottom of this because it's really affecting my productivity and my job status at work. Has anyone had issues like this? Could it be related to MJPolyTools? Any help would really be appreciated.

The problem is definately MJPolytools as it is an unsupported thirdparty add on.. There are several things you can do.

A: Stop using MJPolytools and get used to working with the supported software
B: Frequently delete the history on the object
C: Save frequently and use the incremental save feature of Maya 4.x
D: Report the problem to the author of MJPolytools
