I am running dual xeon's at 1.4 ghz. 1 gig of rdram, 10,000 rpm hd's, and quadro 2 pro. I recently upgraded to windows XP and Maya 4. previously I was using maya 3.0 and windows 2000 and the setup was lightning fast and I had no complaints....
Now, with XP and Maya 4, I run into some slowdown????
mostly in my perspective viewport when I am zooming and panning around and such.....
what could be causing this problem?? I have been told that it may be the sub-D surfaces slowing it down, but I modeled a 160 poly count object and converted to sub-D's and the slow down occurs. This should not happen and I need a fix.
Any one with any advice please help
thanks,
