what do you need v-ray for when you have mental ray?

yes v-ray is easy, but also buggy and not very accurate

mental ray is deeply integrated into maya and has tons of possibilities

ı choose vray render because architecture work's very is pratice...

I always find this hilarious. Nothing against Vray but he reasoning is a bit off.

Because these guys need a push button render they go out and buy a new rendrer.
Interestingly enough its hype that counts here.

Now they COULD spend this same money onto buying a custom pushbutton renderer
for the one they have. and get even better pictures and work flows. Best of all they
could have got this solution yesterday, and more integrated in their own work flow
enabling them to work quicker.

Now the problem with the grass is green onthe other side thinking is that you never
have the green grass just the if i had this thought

thats correct - v-ray is easy, I have friends that are using it without having an actual idea of what they are doing, and no idea of how things work

v-ray is an excelent way to get good results with no knoledge and effort

Yes, but you can have that in mental ray for the same money
(or less money if you ask the right questions).

All you need is to rent a td for week and theyd build this up for the
user and they no longer need to know what they are doing.

BUT as a additional bonus you can get the look you want, wich
may or may not be the same as the default veray look.

So for example while vray does automnate the nonliner image to linear
for color. ITs easy to drop in script that does same for MR, however
whan you make this effort you could easily enough calibrate many lookup
tables for different outputs.

Likewise if the studia has a need ofr hand drawn look they can get that too
all they need is to run the make hand drawn script.. the effort is the same.
