Hair Color Doesn't Show Up On Mental Ray?

I colored my hair from black to blonde in the "shading" tab in hairsystemshapeX
When i render it in software rendering it shows up
but when i render in mental ray, the color stays black, anyone know how to render color in mental ray for hair?
