Hdv Green Screen Keying

Ok, I am hoping that I can be given some further pointers on keying HDV footage. 1280x720, I have looked at the shake manual and chossen to go with method 1). that is described there, althought this is producing a better key I still am not very happy, nor should I be with the result.

Content in images. wispy hair but not fly away, wine glasses plus actors and the like.

An further advice would be apprecated, I am currently using the Keylight keyer, Is there a better keyer out there for this sort of footage??..

i usually use primatte, but honestly:
there's only that much you can expect from HDV footage. whispy hair and glas are usually not one of them (unless you downconvert for SD). and then usually somebody left the in camera sharpening up way to high

Yeah, I could never get precise keys with HDV. It also depends on how it's lit but for the most part it was a pain in the...

Primatte got me satisfactory results, often though I'd generate a few keys mixing Keylight with Primatte. One is better than the other at some things.

For me Primatte still the best keyer...

For DV footage you have do something with RGB color space..
Goto Shake User Manual Vol 11 pg 306..It show how to works with DV footage..
