Adding Radio Button Attributes

I'm trying to add an attribute to a node such that we have a three option radio button
ie
the attribute is there to select between the three axes.
there does not seem to be radio button functionality for the addAttr command

Any ideas? (thanks in advance)

not but there is the option for enumerate which allows you to specify multiple choices
