Hello
Is there a way to add or remove individual vertices from being influenced by a joint, perhaps by using the UV Texture editor window? I have a jaw bone which is dragging down the upper lip of a character when opened. I cannot easily get to the upper lip to paint the influence from the bone - I cannot simply open the mouth to access the upper lip because the upper lip moves down, stuck to the lower lip.
I have used the UV Texture editor window to isolate vertices when adding/subtracting vertices to blendshapes - I would like to be able to do the same thing for joints.
The Maya help kind of hints at editing deformer set membership, before sending me in a circle (Maya help: _See Edit Deformers > Edit Membership Tool. takes me to: _See Edit Membership Tool. which takes me to: _You can directly edit deformer set memberships by selecting deformable object points with the Edit Membership Tool. See Editing deformer set membership and Paint Set Membership Tool. which takes me back to the start. Nice one Autodesk.)
I just need to select a bunch of vertices, and tell Maya not to associate them with that joint. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Paul
