Hello 'yall!
I'm studying industrial design and have a small project involving that of moving the internal parts of a device to come up with a better weight distribution. The goal is to improve the device's ergonomics this way.
Is there a way of simulating the center of mass in Maya, so that I'd have a group of mock-up objects (with their masses input via extra attributes) and then there'd be some locator at the center of mass? This mass center locator would then update interactively if the mock-up pieces are moved around.
I'm thinking this could be done using MEL and assigning the masses as additional attributes. Does this sound Ok? Is there an already existing script/solution for this?
