hi my name is niklas
i wrote a script in python to connect my joysick to a camera in maya.
lets say something to this

i wrote a while loop
30 times per sec the loop graps x y z value from the stick and write it into the location from the camera and set a key frame.
i worked quite cool, but i can see der moves from the camera only after i stop the while loop.

so i would like to know is there an display update function in maya or an draw frame or ...?

You dont need to do that, just set uup the joystic as a motion capture device and maya will do it as long as you have either a animation running, or you run a empty simulation update loop.

No need for code unless you joystic is somehow wierd, as maya allready knos how to do this. Even so dont write a script that updates the stuff just wirite a motion capture driver and youll get hands on better toolsets.

but what is an empty simulation update loop, for me it sounds like my to draw method.

and do you have a nice tutorial for setup an mocap i found some but i don't get sense out of it
i am now playing around with the clockserver to find how it works.

the funny thing is i lerned python to do this in the last 3 weeks now i lern c / c++ hahaha
