I just switched over to Maya from 3D MAX. Currently I am hating life. The manuals really s--k! I am struggling with version 3.0 and would like to get a decient book on the subject. It seems that the simplest things in other porgrams are nearly impossable in Maya from what I can gather. Any recommendations on books or other learning aids would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Because Maya 3 was just recently released I wouldn't expect to find too many books on the subject. However there are plenty of older Maya books that should at least help you cover the basics. Yes, simple things in MAX can be very difficult in Maya and vice versa. They're different packages. You have to approach them with different mentalities. Forget what you already know.
