Ok, so first of all I am not an advanced maya user and this may be common sense but so far I have had a real problem figuring it out. I need to make light streaks with a glow that follow a path and then gradually reduce in size. Through trial and error, I created a particle effect that I am happy with overall. I parented the emitter to a locator and just moved the locator through space. Another thing I tried was to attach the locator to a motion path but in both cases, the tail became very pointy in the areas where the locator was moving quickly. It looks similar to when the tesselation settings are too low on a curve extrusion but I cant find where to control this. If anyone can even tell what I'm talking about and has some advice, I would really appreciate the help!
