Looking for a good node renamer for Maya

I have been working on some complicated car models for a while now. I recently had to import some parts from an older model into a newer one, and now a huge number of nodes in my current model have the filename for the old model added to their names! I'd fix this manually but shudder at the idea of manually renaming all of that stuff.I have looked at several of the renamer MELscripts here, and have tried Comprehensive Renamer. However, it only seems to want to rename things one at a time. The whole point is for the software to go through every node and make a name change based on some simple criteria. So is there a renamer out there that can at least rename every instance in a tree, or better?Thanks,Andacar

Have you tried renaming through Maya's Default "Search & Replace" option available in 'Modify' Menu?

OK, I've tried Search and Replace (and I can't believe I never saw that before!) but it doesn't appear to do anything. First off, it doesn't seem to want to replace a string with nothing. For example, I have a node called clean:Verna_6_v30:revolvedSurface18 and would like to delete everything except the revolved surface name. But it comes back with an error. When I try to replace it with something like a dash it tells me 0 Items Replaced.
