This is true, as you can purchase the code for 50K, no lincense issues anymore as some companies want to maintain the code and make 64-bit working versions (as we already have done).
From the developers here, the new stuff added in 4.1 was taken out, and much of the multi-threading code was not up to GCC standards nor was it working well. That too has been patched (here).
I recommend companies taking a fine tooth look at the source as they have help improved the overall performance of the code. UNfortuantly I can't post any of the code. But for those looking into the issue's those are the problems we ran into.
We have 64-bit/32-bit on Linux working and stable. We will be building for OSX as well, as that has its problems and the code is not really designed for intel chips.
