Lut Table For Cineon On Shake

Hi,

I will work soon with .cin log filesfor a movie.
I usually work for HD so i try to have to more info i can. I am looking for info about how to see on my screen what will be on screen.
I think i have to correct my log/lin node but i have no info from the lab, it looks a mess.
if someone can help to to clear all of this it will be nice

Hi there,

first go to http://www.kodak.com/US/en/motion/support/digitallad.jhtml and download the cineon image.
Then load that into shake and put on the lg/o/log viewer script. Change the settings to Log to Lin then play with your gamma until you get it looking nice.

Ideally do this with a bit of film from the lab with the same image projected.

Or

Try and work out Truelight

But it all depends on what stock the lab will record onto.

I have already worked on this picture, I found in some tutorials some little tips for that,
with changing the 2 gamma values with 1, i have a nice look,
But i have no idea of the real look on projection, you understand my worry.
If i work too bright or to dark, that will be a problem after.
I need something more precise if there is a way
I will look for more and wish i could do some test with the lab before

Yes well unfortunately the only way is to do tests with your lab. If you can put something out and project it in the same room as your monitor you can adjust your gamma to what you are seeing. That's about the only thing for it.

The lab really should be able to build you a lookup though.
