I'm getting quite frustrated trying to think of a way to reproduce an effect similar to an old Dyson advert (http://www.beam.tv/beamreels/reel_player.php?reel=PsKqvCQtZf&reel_file=YvWfnwFVdt&fs=1&resize=1).
I've created a motion path, and animated a ball following it. To make the trails, I have made several nurbs circles and used Surfaces->Extrude to create tubes along the same motion path. I can then animate these by adjusting the subCurve value so it extrudes from 0 to 1 following the ball.
My problem is the timing does not match; the ball is often ahead or behind the 'trails'. Does anyone know how I can get an accurate result without having to go keyframe crazy, or dabbling with particles?
