Yeah im just talking about modifying the tests. They are Maya specific. Im not too impressed with SPECviewperf as how it relates to specific apps. Granted I havent done testing in a while but when I did only the software specific tests we created told a true performance expectation.

We also have some old XSI ones... ed are you up for updating them? They may still work.. I doubt it.. I had hired a guy in softimage to write them, so they rocked when they worked

As for SPEC I did finally receive a reply and they're going to work on releasing an update to their SPECapc Maya test for Linux, Windows and OSX. The current version is only for Maya 6.5 and runs on Windows only. I mentioned to them several studios that use Linux in their pipeline could benefit with a Linux port. As well Maya is ported to OSX and reason enough to offer an OSX port of their benchmark test.
