I was wondering if it's possible to execute a MEL command from the API. There are some high-level MEL commands that it would be great to have access to. Can I formulate a string and "eval" it in MEL somehow?
Thanks in advance.

I haven't used it, but it seems like MGlobal::executeCommand is what you want.

I was interested in the same thing. I'm told by Maya support use can use MGlobal::executeCommand, but it won't run much faster than just using MEL
