Is occlusion baking in Maya possible? Has anybody experiences on how to bake occlusion on different objects? I always have the same problems to get correctly baked textures.
If I bake only a plane it works but only 90% beacause the margins towards the objects are aliased...

How can I do this? Using FG? or even another 3D Tool?

best regards
holger

i only tried once, but it seemed to work ok.
use the mib\_ambient occlusion and a write file texture node. there is a tutorial on lamrug.org on
how to do it exactly.

hope this helped

Pwerosnaly i did this same solution a bit differently (about a year ago because i needed to drop baking time and i did drop it to azwhopping 1/10 with better results) but yeas doing occlusion one shoudl use the FG\_occlusion because its MUCH faster and produces smoother results. Im supprised alias didnt bother to do this themseleves.

Ayway your uvmap layout placement is vital here. BAd layout no intelligent baking! Also you should allways use the fill seams option with a value of 12 or so. (except maya 8 seems to have a faster method thats allmost as good)
