Hi,
Is there any way to use standard render nodes inside a paint effects brush? Specifically, I want to modulate opacity over the U dimension of a tube. The default U Ramp that's built into the brush node only provides a linear transition between two values. A Ramp or Remap Value node would do the trick nicely, if I could only plug it into the brush.
I know I can choose "File" as the brush's Texture Type, but I'd rather not in this case. The tubes are very long and narrow, which would require a file map with an extreme aspect ratio. And of course, it would be so much better to do it procedurally because I get realtime feedback in Maya.
Thanks!
maybe you can convert it to polygons, and modify its shader's transparancy channel directly through mapping:)
