QUOTEUnfortunately basename and basenameEx do not fit for this problem.
no, but the command I was actually thinking of does:
CODEfileExtension "c:/qwdq/asgasdf.mb";// Result: mb //
I win x2!
thx jooja for being informative .. i thought another way with match and tokenize..
i too used match for solving that probs..
basename and basenameEx solve for extension but i want for this case to seperate filename from extension..
thanks everyone..
Ahh but see then you have a problem. youd need to tokenze and then recombine, because nothing states a file cant be named
my.file.is. separated.by.many.extensions
Only the slast being a extension so its not much faster anyway, in fact 2 regexps may be faster. or substitute combined with split
yeah.that.substitute.will.make my script "." proof..
know i know what and how can we do idiot proofing..
Thank You!
