I can define a new tumbleCtx in mel and instruct it to be the context that maya uses with its alt-left click functionality, but is there anyway to hijack this functionality altogether and point it at an entirely different context?
The problem I'm trying to work around here is that when your camera is parented to a node that has a funky rotation on it, then the tumble tool doesn't behave particularly well - so I'm trying to write a new 'stable' tumble tool, and then have it override the default. I'm struggling to come up with even a hacky unparent/reparent solution, as I cant find a way to register callbacks to these alt-click tool changes - it seems to be quite a special maya event.
