looks like a shadow map problem to me. have u tried playing with your shadowmap bias? the resolution on the map looks really low too, so you might want to try cranking that up. Or using ray-traced shadows. ![](http://www2.highendnet.com/forums/icons/smile.gif)

Hi,

Thanks for the help, Im already using raytraced shadows, but I didnt click on the map shadows under the mental ray tab. I ve only selected raytraced shadows under the light attributes.
Its much better, but I still have that error, less, but I have it. I will try to adjust the bias on the raytrace globals in the maya render settings and rerender.. actualy now they are to 0.000 maybe I can put the bias to 0.005.
Can you give me some values for the soluction, like shadow values and ligh values?

Thanks one more time,

Best regards,

sorry man, if you're using ray traced shadows, bias ain't gonna do a lot for ya. i've never seen any artifacting like that before with raytracing. are you sure its a shadowing problem? try moving your camera closer to the problem, check your geometry, try different geometry etc...
