Rendering To An External Drive

Hiya

Is it possible to render from maya to and external drive, such as a network drive.

I need to render outside of the maya project setup.

My network drive is \rendDriv\

If i go into the Maya project settings and change the default images folder from 'images' to '\rendDriv\' and batch render the output still goes to images.

Any help would be REALLY helpful,

either map the drive so it has a letter e.g. . Network drive can't be \rendDriv\ , because there's no sharename assigned. Create there a directory (e.g. share) and share it while in project settings type \rendDriv\share. I guess it should work. At least it did for maya 4.

blacksnake's thing works with maya6 I do it every day
