i was a user of softimage 3d sp2. i found out that the rotoscope mode configration tab can not set .avi files as backgrund(it is grey.)could u tel me why?thanku all!!

Because avi files are not supported by softimage. You have to convert it to a softimage pic-sequence. Here on Highend you can download a softpic-plugin for photoshop.If I remember correctly this works also with AfterFX and Premiere.

Or to convert an AVI to PIC files, you can use the 'avi2soft' utility that ships with Softimage|3D. From your Softimage|3D comand prompt, type the following (altering paths as required):

avi2soft c:capturestest.avi c:picstest.pic

As you can see it just needs two values; input file and path and output file and path.
