Hi

I suspect its me but I have a low polygon head which I have created a cluster around the lips to allow me to colour the lips another colour.but when I come to subdivide the head the coloured shader for the lips doe not appear. I thought by creating a cluster on the low polygon that it would automatically transfer to he subdivided model,or do I have tocreate a new cluster on the new head.

Thanks

hi!
In XSI 1.5 when u subdivide an object ,materials have to be reassigned..
With XSI 2.0 this problem doesn't exist since from what i've heard there is a new option in the duplicate command..(or something like that)!!!
Anyway u have to create a new cluster and reassign all the materials..Note that if u don't plan to do any modifications on your subd object u can use the geometry approximation on your original object for a smooth render.

If you increase the subdivisions by using Geometry Approx. instead of subdividing the surface. You can keep the same textures and they should match up pretty well. At least they did for one of our projects back in August.
