Hello everybody,

Please excuse my english, it is not my native language
I am a new user of Maya, and I have a problem with texturing.
I generated a ground using VUE 9 (PLE version), I exported it in a Wavefront .obj file
and imported in Maya. I'm trying to put a Image file all over the surface to texture it.
It doesn't work, It just change the color in a random way. If I put it on a simple sphere or plane surface, it works fine.
I tried to open the UV editor but the image seems to be in the right place.
I'm not an expert so I hope somebody could help me. I hope that's clear, let me know if you need more details

Thanks in advance

Jean-Baptiste

...but the image seems to be in the right place.

images are always in the right place in UV editor, that not neccessarily means that the UVs also do. Here a screen:

make sure that there IS a wireframe inside your UV Editor that more or less corresponds to your ground mesh, if not check if a proper UV layout exists as additional map (but i doubt it) "UV Texture Editor -\> UV Sets" (as shown at the image)
Otherwise its easy to create a new UV map. Have a look inside the polygon menu, go to "Create UVs" and choose one of the upper options.
