Triangulated Polys,videogames, and polygonal model

the next gen fps games will use around 2,500 polys per model.

console fighting games can afford to use more polys for obvious reasons.

see this and you'll be surprised at what a good character modeler can do with about 2,400 polys.

i was working with a guy last year on a quake 3 model that had about 2500 triangles.

you can add a LOT to a lowpoly model with elaborate texturing.

Wow, the animation on that is gorgeous... with nice details, like that piston from chest to head, etc... great sense of weight and bounce to it.

Well, I won't say thanks, simply because I didn't model those cool models. They were done for UT2, U2, and UC.
I am however in the process of making a classic super hero model for U2 and UT2 . I have the body minus the head and hands, and surpricingly I amd using less than 700 polys, yet the model body has all the detail its gonna need.
I'll post a link to it when I get closer to completing it.

OMFG that model is [censored] great in that animation... jesus, see, that guy needs to make a tutorial on how to make some cool dude like that, and rigging the character... jesus, i'd appreciate that if someone did something like that (that produced those ending results)
