shot...tryed a cygwin yesterday...kept making my pc crash

As a former IRIX user, I used to have Putty on my w2k machine ...
I don't know if the features are enough for you, but it's a good start ....
Dewpends on waht you want to do with your Unix emulator.

What about WMware running a linux distribution along windows ?

microsoft made a terminal emulator called "services for unix". They discontinued it a couple years ago but I still think you can find the download for it burried on the M$ site. Surprirsingly I liked it better then cygwin.
