# Using sound in maya

hi  
i am looking for some plug-in or MEL script that can manage sound files under maya.  
i want to retrieve some information such as sampleRate, number of channels, signal amplitude and perhaps also the Fourier analysis.  
does anybody know were can i find such tool ?
