I dont get it.

There may be one of these things wrong:

1.The alpha chanel is wrong or doesnt exist at all.

2.The shader are in the wrong order in the layered shader.

You know what i just thought of, why dont you give me a copy of this scene and i'l tel you whats wrong.

well the green color of out side is diff material. n diff plane. let me upload da scene i created.

1. The image has no alpha channel, and thus it cannot work whatever you do. In your case you can use the image itself as alpha, but that is advanced stuff, so simply make an alpha channel as in my latest tutorial.

2.The 'alpha offset'(found in your file(ctrl+a) properties under 'color balance'.) is set to 0, and if you want it to work it should be 1.

After these adjustments everything worked for me.

ohh i m using maya 5 and 6, i dont have maya unlimited 7 as maya personal edition 7 sucks by showing logos n watermark. i think u r using 7 or 8 so i cant open dat same file in my maya... anyways i will create alpha image again n will try it by saving it bmp insted of jpeg. thanks for u r great help buddy!

Maya 7 unlimited. However you can still use the yamahaWithAlpha image.

You should make that font white in your image with photoshop.

Or maybe you can play a bit with color balance in your file properties (ctrl+a)and see what you get.
