What sort of market share does XSI have?

Just like the subject says. When I go into a bookstores, I see dozens of Maya books, several for 3DS Max, and maybe 1 for SoftImage. As for myself, I kinda find the XSI interface appealing because I don't much like icons, but then, I'm the patron saint of lost causes. Still, I'm curious if this means that XSI has as small a market share as it might lead one to believe.

I don't know what sort of market share XSI has, but I suspect that the lack of books has to do with the fact that XSI is only a few years old, while Max and Maya have been around at least 2 to 3 times as long.

I know of many people writing XSI books. You'll see more soon.

Looking at the number of books for each application is an indirect indicator. You can also look at the number of postings on XSI General and Maya General etc. on Highend forums. Job postings on the various CG sites is also an indicator.

The market has matured and XSI was a bit late to the game. XSI is still evolving to meet users needs although the new version 4.2 has many new features, fixes and added value.
