I'm a Maya user, but i've wanted to try out XSI for a while now so i thought i should get XSI Experience, but it's only version 2. Does anyone know if they plan to release an Experience veroin of XSI 3? Also how different is 2 to 3?

Experience for v3 is currently at beta stage, afaik. Don't know when it will be released.

Oh good, they are doing it. But what are the biggest additions or improvements 3 has over 2?

The BIGGEST additions are not exactly additions, but improvements. Performance in v3 is quite impressive. The software is more stable, it handles more easily large scenes, subdivision surfaces is faster, I can now keep long history stacks, mental ray is somewhat faster and less likely to crash on heavy scenes.

I suggest you read the feature list on Softimage website.

Hope this helps
