Zorba The Greek

So, Zorba the Greek posted some softimage stuff in the BUZZ. Its basacally a soft add but users of the program might find it interesting.
We all know he posts for softimage so they don't have to advertise anything here. Should be take all his buzz posts like this down? Or do they offer somthing to our softimage users?
What do you guys think?

Being the only Softimage guy here, I guess I'll be a little biased... but I say leave them up when they provide useful information for XSI users. When they are pure advertising, then perhaps we should take them down.

Well the only issue is in the past Softimage has turned its nose to the site in general. When asked if they would like to advertise they said it was a wasted resource or somthing to that effect. Meanwhile, people like Zorba come from Soft to post things that are advertising based. To me, someone who thinks the site is a wonderful resorce and the things found here have saved my butt on occasion its irritating that a company as big as soft won't want to advertise but feels enough soft users are here to spend the time to post things like he does for free. Its upto Wil on this, to me, its just as bad as any of the other spam the only difference is some of our users might have interest in it.

yeah i dont like that its coming directly from softimage and the fact that he never responds when I send him mail but we have to keep relevant xsi stuff up there for the xsi users.

so we'll let stuff like that stay. its reallly too bad they arent more supportive... pretty stupid if you think a site with the most maya users would help you get the word out.
