Hi,
I've got a human rig with an animated walk cycle (created with Mixamo) and I want to copy it a number of times in my scene to have perhaps twenty people walking in different directions with different timings etc.
Currently I'm importing a maya binary that contains the character each time, and aside from being a slow and clunky workflow, it really clutters the outliner because each instance of the character comes with a character group, a character set, a joint set, a controls set and a geo set. I'm unable to simply group these together for some reason (although possibly my description of what each of these is is incorrect - I'm not sure what the outliner icon next to them means (it's a sphere and a cyliner enclosed in a circle)).
So basically I'm asking, is there a neater way to do this? Presumably some people would want hundreds or thousands of characters in a scene, so I'm guessing they don't import a .ma for each one.
And if not, is there a way to clean up the outliner?
Cheers,
BenĀ
