Hello,
I am a student who wants to purchase a copy of Maya Unlimited and I can't help but notice that the student edition is vastly less expensive (even the versions that have unlimited license) than the retail version. Now I only heard this from anecdotal sources but I never read it anywhere but am I to understand correctly that even though a student edition doesn't include a watermark that it is technically illegal to make work with it for commercial purposes (I repeat I am a student)?
I mean I find it hard to imagine how Autodesk would be able to enforce such a policy which is one reason to assume that this isn't true. But I of course one day want to be a serious artist with Maya as one of my primary tools and I need to have all of my bases covered.
