Hello. New here. I sincerely hope someone's had to deal with this one.
My large 16-bit colour files (tiff) have a tendency to render out all screwy and wacky with RfM 1.0. (Not sure if those are the technical terms). Hard to describe: It looks like a mixutre of bad UVs mixed with someone else's colour bars mixed with muddy blacks and browns and I have no idea how else to express this. Quite unlike anything I've seen before.
It only happens with Renderman for Maya 1.0 (Maya 7). All other renderers work fine. The problem goes away when I either shrink the res or bring the files down to 8 bit.
But I really don't want to do that. In any case, I wish I had more details to post (is it possible that so early a version doesn't convert to .tx automatically?)
I dread going back to mental ray's snail-like final gather. Please help.
