30fps Vs 29.97fps

What's the difference in frames?
1800 frames running @ 30fps will give me (?) frames @ 29.97fps?

The film was shot @ 24fps so my Globals are set to 24fps. I render @ 24fps then bring it into after effects and apply a speed change of 125% (every 4th & 5th frame will be the same) to emulate 30fps. I then render the comp @ 30fps. My editor is working @ 29.97fps.

There must be an easier way.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well thing is that whatever you render in maya maya allways mekes avis that are at 29.97.

This is no mistake maya did not specify the speed at all its just thst avi standard asumes its the said 29.97 NOW theres a wya to tell the sytem what reate you asumed it is and its called conform you can find it in the footages properties in AE.

Why are you doing a speed change and editing 24p shot material at 29.97? Just edit at 24p(most editors can do that these days). If you are going to work in 29.97, a speed change is not the way to do it. You want to do a 2/3 pulldown in order to convert it. Most editor and compositor software packages have this ability.

29.97 is a technical thing to do with the standard, it's called "drop frame" and is around to prevent a loss of sync in audio. If you work in 30, your audio will slowly get out of sync minute by minute.
