How much money are you willing to invest. Many times a startup will need a few years worth of money for salaries to begin with.

I was also like to talk with some programers about potentially writing a new program idea that would combat industry standards.
There are not many standards to combat in any case its one thing to have a idea but programming IS a design intensive area. I mean to do something doesn't take long. But to do something quick that then works on the long run when you need to change this and that is another thing entirely.
So programming is about maintainability of code, not so much the spectacular algorithms. I mean if it works thats spiffy but accounting for design debt is important, up front. THeres a few companies that ive seen to fall 5 years in line because they couldn't cope with their accumulated design debt.
Eliminating design debt is not glamorous pursuit, its something that costs time and money but needs to be done.
