3ds Max Garment Help

Okay so i make a Rectangle under shapes>splines and apply garment maker modifier.
Then when i go into seams and try to select an edge to link to another, it selects around the perimeter of the hole shape.
it dose this every time no matter if i have more than one Shape under an editable spline.

Can anyone help me?

after you make a rectangular spline, select and right click then select convert to spline. going to editing dialog box, select all the vertices then right click and select break. now apply the garment maker and create your seam. good luck
