compared to maya its easier. i learned max in 98 and have been using it for almost ten years now. i learned in scholl in classes taught by the most wonderful teacher ever, daniel manahan. the aet, academy of entertainment and technology, in santa monica is where i studied. they had the bight idea (sarcasm) of not teaching max anymore and switching to maya (assholes) (idiots!!) and well, max has not been taught there since like 2002 i think. any way i was there during the max years and, daniel teaches in a place called the friedman center downtown la, (los angeles) california, (american state colonies) and he may still be there at the friedman center downtown.
theres' tutorials around. but the discipline you get from school, really, cannot be surpassed, its great to go to school for any thing you want to learn and it really does give you an unbelievable edge,. but there is a lot I learned on my own and with friends
thats a great way to learn, get a friend and work from home, seperate rooms with two computers, one computer in each room, and you work by checking up on each other like that. doing tutorials or finding ways to do things.
max is easy. maya is harder, but also teh spoftware costs a lpot, try to get a hold of a copy pf the educational version, pm me and i'll tell you how to get it cheap and legal. theres a few sites, but you must be enrolled in a school or college, its an academic discount and they check the registration.
